About Dr. Don Hicks

Dr. Hicks is the Founder/Present of Church Health Solutions. He has been in the ministry for forty years as a Senior Pastor of various size churches, church planter, bi-vocational, transitional pastor, missionary, university, and seminary professor, and has coached and ministered to thousands of pastors who have experienced a personal or professional crisis.

Dr. Hicks is an author, pastor, professor, conference speaker, and has hosted and appeared on radio and television. Former Assistant teacher for the Thomas Road Baptist Church Pastors Bible Class that is aired on TV weekly. Former Director of The Peaceful Church Institutive, Church Law Institute. Dr. Hicks has experience that uniquely qualifies him as one of the leading authorities on complex church conflict mediation and resolution, church health, pastor termination, complex church crisis, and the transitional pastor ministry. Hundreds of churches and church leaders have used his coaching, consulting, mediation/Christian Conciliation skills to strengthen the health of their church.

Dr. Hicks has preached and taught across the country in SBC churches, Associational, State Conventions meetings, and seminaries, as well as served on Local, State and National SBC Committees. He served on the SBC Minister Relations association for 5 years and on a Lifeway Research Project, Why Pastors are Terminated or Drop Out of The Ministry, as an expert. Three mission trips to minister to Syrian Refugees in Macedonia, Greece, and Germany. Taught Iranian leaders in Biblical Discipleship and ministry. Preached in several churches in Germany. Dr. Adrian Rogers ordained Don to the ministry, was his mentor, friend, and served for two years as a pastoral intern at Bellevue Baptist Church.

Dr. Hicks holds a B.S. degree from Liberty University, M.Div. from Mid-Western Baptist Theological Seminary, and a D. Min from Liberty University Baptist Theological Seminary, with additional training at Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is a certified SBC Transitional Pastor and has served 14 churches in that capacity. Certified Peacemaking, Rational Wisdom 360, Mediation and Christian consolation. Pastoral Counseling Diploma Liberty University.

Dr. Hicks has been teaching for over 14 years for Liberty University School of Divinity as an Online Assistant Professor and seven years as a residential professor for Preaching, Preventing Ministry Failure, Pastoral Theology, Pastoral Leadership, Transitional Pastor, and The Pastor: Navigating and Resolving Church Conflict. He serves as a doctoral candidate mentor and subject matter expert. Former Director of the Office of Church Health and Church Relations. Former Associate Dean Liberty University Home Bible Institute.
